Day -1

Day -1 mainly included a lot of packing.  I'm used to packing for 4 days or a week cycling tops (easy - 4 team kits, rain jacket, bike shoes, helmet, some clothing for dining in) so this was a slightly different challenge.  I also had to make sure I could get it in the car with the bike as well.

By lunch time I thought I was doing ok and despite the 25C outside temperature the flat was a little cooler. However I decided it was time for lunch somewhere new and seeing as how I'd promised myself for months that I'd try Maggie's cafe/restaurant near Lewisham station.  So off I trotted.

After a couple of recent trips to Super Sausage near Towcester it had a lot to live up to.  I opted for the mixed breakfast option which is basically any of a choice of 20 options on one plate with a bottomless cup of tea.  So egg, bacon, sausage, fried slice, beans, mushrooms and two slices of marge'd bread turned up for £5.50.  It was actually pretty good and the only thing I thought let it down was the fried slice (bread) which was crispy and didn't have the flavour of the Super Sausage equivalent.

The location is very handy but boy is there a lot of traffic passing.

All polished off it was time to get back to work.  This time ironing.  Not what I thought my days as a free man would consist of but it needed doing.

I was all finished to get scrubbed up and head out to Wahaca to meet Jane, Sheela and Jonas for Mexican food.  And maybe a few tequilas.... not what I needed before a 5am start.
